Tradisi ngaduk dodol perlahan-lahan mulai ilang dari budaya Betawi,bukannya orang Betawi udah kaga doyan ama nyeng namanya dodol,doyan mah kaga bakalan ilang.Tradisi ini mungkin mulai ilang karena biaya ngaduk makin mahal,bahan buat bikin dodol setiap taon terus naek,biaya bikin dodol melebihi biaya buat beli baju lebaran bocah ditambah sekarang udah banyak makanan pengganti buat bawaan lebaran,orang pada demen nyeng praktis dan murah.
Padahal kalo kita renungin entuh nyeng namanya bikin dodol bukan cuman sekedar bikin kue,banyak pelajaran nyeng bisa kita ambil dari tata cara bikin dodol.Ada nilai gotong royong nyeng begitu berasa ada nyeng bantuin ngupasin kelapa,ada nyeng bikin tungkunya,ada nyeng ngadonin,ada ngirisin gula merah,ada nyeng meres kelapa biar jadi santen,ada nyeng nyalain apinya dan ada nyeng ngubek-ngubek kwali gede biar adonan nya siap buat dicemplungin.Apalagi pas entuh dodol udah mao jadi kole(dodol muda) bikinya atawa ngaduknya kudu bedua biar kaga angus sebelah, sungguh nilai persatuan nya begitu berasa.
Ada anggapan katanya bikin dodol capek dan bisa bikin jebol puasa,kalo orang dulu biar bikin dodol kaga bikin batal puasa,entuh nurunin adonannya biasanya pas abis pada kelar sembahyang taraweh biar entar pas bedug saur entuh dodol udah mateng,jadi semua nyeng bikin pada kaga batal puasanya. Enyak -enyak kalo udah adonan rada berasa keras disuruh Istirahat entuh nyeng nerusin anak-anak muda nyeng masing pada kuat tenaganya.
Orang dulu emang masing kentel ama nyeng namanya persatuan,kalo ada kata nyambat ama nyeng punya hajat bikin dodol entuh pasti udah pada dateng bantuin,kaga dibayar pake duit palingan cuman dikasi dodolnya arang sepulung(segulung) entuh go udah pada girang bet apalagi nyeng jejaka ama dedara demen bener kalo disambat bikin dodol apalagi kalo nyeng nyuruh demenan wah bisa dari sore udah nongol ,palingan tuan rumah nyiapin dah jaburan ama makan saur kaga perlu mewah masakan nya cuman sayur asem, tembang atawa teri di teriguin ama lalab udah uplek bener dah.
Sekarang ngaduk dodol tinggal orang mao besanan doang itu go jarang ama kalo ada event Betawi ngaduk dodol pada ditongolin, padahal dodol Beatwi kalo dilestarikan kaga kalah ama namanya dodol garut bahkan lebih enak karena bahannya dari ketan nyeng pulen, apalagi kata istilah orang tua kita dulu dodol entuh artinya berdoa biar afdhol ,lah kalo udah kaga ada nyeng bikin dodol bisa ilang dah budaya kita atu-atu….
